Privacy Policy for Chat PDF Exporter

Chat PDF Exporter is a browser extension that lets users export visible ChatGPT conversations and assistant answers to PDF files.

Data Handling

The extension runs locally in the user's browser. It handles visible ChatGPT website content locally only to render the PDF or print view requested by the user.

The website content handled locally may include selected ChatGPT messages, user prompts, assistant answers, rendered Markdown, math formulas, images, links, source lists, file/media cards, tables, charts, static previews, and diagrams that are visible in the conversation.

The extension does not collect user data off-device, does not transmit user data, does not sell user data, and does not share user data. It does not store ChatGPT conversations, browsing history, account information, authentication information, personal communications, location, financial information, health information, or analytics data.

The extension does not use user data for personalized advertising, does not transfer user data to data brokers or information resellers, does not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes, and does not allow humans to read user data.

The extension's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The extension does not use a remote server. Generated PDF files are created in the browser and downloaded by Chrome to the user's device.

Permissions

The extension requests activeTab so the popup can communicate with the current ChatGPT tab after the user opens the extension.

The extension declares static content script matches only for:

• https://chatgpt.com/*
• https://chat.openai.com/*

These matches are used only to display export controls on supported ChatGPT pages and to read selected conversation content for local PDF generation. The extension does not request persistent host_permissions.

The extension declares web_accessible_resources only for packaged CSS files and packaged KaTeX font files on the same supported ChatGPT URL patterns. These resources let the content script load local export-control styling and math fonts. No JavaScript, HTML, user data, or remote resources are exposed through web_accessible_resources.

Third Parties

The extension includes local bundled copies of open source rendering libraries: markdown-it, KaTeX, Mermaid, html2canvas, and jsPDF. These libraries run in the user's browser as part of the extension package.

The extension does not send user data to these projects or any other third party.
